I see people mentioning pinning? But that would either take away space towards the right (annoying), or be a floating window (also annoying). If I have to go out of my way to view it, then it’s not that much better than the Apple Shortcut hack I’m using these days (thanks for having good support for that though!). A value of backlinks for me is that they appear alongside the note (either on the top or bottom is fine) so I can easily see it when viewing the note. Very happy thaty you’re adding backlinks, but I’m disappointed that they’re hidden away by default. We’re adding those inside the info panel like the Stats and the Table of content That said, we want to add more power to tables (sorting for example) and we might add some kind of very basic math support (automatic sum, avg, etc…), but all of this after the 2.0 releaseīacklinks will not be in the first beta, but in a later update. The formula would only work in Bear and not in any other editor, nor you’ll be able to see the results in the plain text file. We thought about this when we added tables, and while this is indeed useful it’s not in the scope of a note-taking app.įor having formulas we would need to add labeling/numbering of the cols/rows for you to be able to reference them and choose some kind of syntax for the formula of which there is no real standard. It may be much more productive and functional if they can logically interact with each other. Tables are all along significant improvement, but their functions do not end with displaying text in cells. (there are analogs in Notion, Google Sheets, and Exel). I know I’m getting ahead of myself, but… do you plan to add formulas to tables? With functions like sum, minus, etc.
